Below you can find answers to FAQ’s.
If you have a question that isn’t answered below then please contact us.
Where are you based?
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes I photograph weddings all over the UK and I’m also available for destination weddings worldwide.
What is your style?
Read about my wedding photography style here.
What does your coverage include?
My full day package includes everything with no limitations. I’ll be there photographing the morning preparations and will stay right through until the party. I want to capture the full story of your day so I do not limit time, the number of images taken, or the number of images that you receive. Anything else would be a compromise and I only want to deliver the best.
Are you available for our wedding date?
Hopefully! Contact me to check availability. Wedding dates often book up 1 to 2 years in advance.
Can we book a second photographer?
Yes sure, I will book a second photographer for you from my trusted network of photographers.
Do you offer wedding albums?
Yes. I offer luxury Queensberry albums, they are beautiful and are crafted using the finest leathers and materials. Smaller parent albums are also available.
Do you offer a Photo Booth service?
Yes, we offer a fun 3 Hour Photo Booth which is the perfect addition to your wedding reception. Our Photo Booth is guaranteed to keep your guests entertained and capture some hilarious photos! A photo booth assistant will set up and operate the booth whilst I carry on photographing the wedding.
How will we receive our wedding photos?
You will receive all of the full resolution images on a USB or via digital download; whatever you prefer. I also highly recommend ordering a wedding album as this is the best way to look back at your photos for many years to come. Technology evolves but printed photographs never go out of date. Queensberry albums are designed to last a lifetime.
How many images do we receive?
There is no limit to the number of images you will receive. On average, you will receive 400+ full resolution images with printing rights when booking my full day package or luxury package.
When will we receive our photos?
Your images will be ready approximately 4-8 weeks after the wedding.
Do you edit all of the images?
Yes, all of the best images are individually edited for quality and consistency. No quick Instagram filters here!
I don’t like having my picture taken – have you got any advice?
When I meet couples for an initial consultation, one of the first things that I often hear is “we don’t really like having our photo taken”. This is natural. You may freeze up or feel awkward having your photo taken, but a big part of that is due to the person taking the photo. When Mum or Dad pushes a camera in your face and says “smile” you are instantly under pressure. My wedding photography style is relaxed and natural. For the majority of the day I capture moments without setting anything up. If you would like some nice photographs of you and your partner then this only takes 15-30 minutes. The best wedding photographs are those that capture emotion and this is what I am constantly striving to capture. You will look and feel amazing on your wedding day so just relax and enjoy yourself!
What if it rains?
Don’t worry about it and just enjoy your day! The best wedding photographs are made by the people in them. A great moment will always beat a blue sky or sunset picture. Being based in Manchester, I have photographed my fair share of dark and rainy weddings. My cameras are incredibly good and allow me to shoot in near dark conditions without using flash or artificial lighting. Also, rain can look really good in wedding photos; especially at night. Hiring an experienced photographer is always important, but even more so when the weather conditions are bad.
It rained all day at Anna & Tom’s wedding. Yes it was wet, but they had an amazing day and as a result got some great pictures.
What camera equipment do you use?
I strongly believe that if you are photographing a wedding then you must use professional photography equipment and nothing else. Weddings are a once in a lifetime thing (hopefully) so using the best equipment ensures that I can dedicate all of my effort into capturing the wedding without worrying about my camera gear. I shoot using two cameras; both Canon full frame SLR’s with L-Series professional lenses. My cameras feature dual memory card slots which means that every photograph I take is recorded to two individual memory cards, therefore if one fails then I instantly have another copy. I favour Canon prime lenses as they let in the most light – perfect for dark churches – and they create beautiful bokeh (blurred backgrounds).
How do you keep our images safe?
Backing up wedding photographs is one of the most important aspects of the job that is often overlooked. I use professional hard drives and always make duplicate backups immediately after each wedding that I photograph. These backups are then backed up again on portable hard drives which are stored off-site to prevent loss from fire or theft, plus online copies are backed up via cloud storage for extra safety.
Do you do family group shots?
Yes of course. I recommend 5-10 group photos so that I still have plenty of time to capture natural photos of your guests enjoying themselves. Each group photograph takes approximately 2-3 minutes. If you would like a photograph of everybody at the wedding, please allow 15 minutes for this.
Are you insured?
Do you bring backup equipment?
How do we book?
A £500 booking fee is required to secure your date.
When do we pay the rest?
The remaining balance is due 28 days prior to your wedding. I’ll send you an invoice approximately 2 months before the wedding.
