Aisle Runner
For weddings at a place of worship you’re unlikely to need an aisle runner but if you have chosen a different venue for the big day you may be able to choose your own. This is a great opportunity to get creative with your wedding ceremony decorations – why not cover the aisle in silk flower petals (they won’t dry out or stain your dress) or invest in a bespoke personalised runner. Or perhaps if you’re hosting a black-tie wedding, a red carpet would fit the bill.
Alter Arches
Adding an arbor or arch is a beautiful way to add presence to the spot where you will say ‘I do’ if your venue doesn’t allow for a traditional altar. This could be a striking floral arrangement. Or you could opt for a contemporary metal finish depending on the style of your wedding. If you are getting married in a church, you might also want to dress the altar with a large bouquet or some extra greenery. Dressing your register table is also a lovely way to bring some style to your wedding ceremony decorations. Take a look at Victoria & James’ stunning Peckforton Castle wedding for some amazing style inspiration created by the amazing team at Luxury Events Group.
Dress the room
You’ve got the aisle and altar covered – what about the rest of the room? If you are opting for a wedding venue rather than a place of worship, then you might be able to be more creative. Garlands and floral arrangements can soften a space while adding string lighting or candles can create warmth. LED candles are great if you have children at the wedding but still want that flickering and romantic light. These are also fantastic ways to help take the space from ceremony to reception. Carrie & Marc’s gorgeous Colshaw Hall spring wedding had the most amazing ceremony room decorations!
Signage
Directions and other signage are also lovely ways to give your wedding ceremony some personality. A wooden welcome sign or cute seating signs for the bridal party look great as part of your wedding ceremony decorations, while a ‘noticeboard’ showing people where to go is a brilliant way to welcome your guests. It’s these personal touches which really make your wedding feel unique to you. If you want a really different ceremony check out our unusual wedding ceremony ideas.
