Backing up wedding photographs is one of the most important aspects of the job that is often overlooked. We only use professional quality hard drives and always make duplicate backups immediately after each wedding. These backups are then backed up again on portable hard drives which are stored off-site to prevent loss from fire or theft. Additionally, the RAW files are backed up online via cloud storage for extra safety.
Yes.
Yes of course. We recommend 5-10 group photos so that there is plenty of time to capture natural photos of your guests enjoying themselves. Each group photograph takes approximately 2-3 minutes. If you would like a photograph of everybody at the wedding, please allow 15 minutes for this.
Shane uses two cameras throughout a wedding day. Both are Canon full frame SLR’s with L-Series professional lenses. He also has a third backup camera, along with other backup equipment such as lenses and lighting. Shane’s cameras feature dual memory card slots to ensure that every photograph taken is recorded to two individual memory cards. Therefore if one memory card fails, we always have a backup copy. Canon prime lenses are Shane’s preferred choice. They let in the most light (perfect for dark churches) and they create beautiful depth of field.
When we meet couples for an initial consultation, one of the first things that I often hear is “we don’t really like having our photo taken”. This is natural. You may freeze up or feel awkward having your photo taken, but a big part of that is due to the person taking the photo. When Mum or Dad pushes a camera in your face and says “smile” you are instantly under pressure. Our wedding photography style is relaxed and natural. For the majority of the day we capture moments without setting anything up. Of course I’ll still take some portraits of the bride and groom, but this only takes approximately 40 minutes and we’ll always split this photo shoot up into two 20 minute sessions (once before and once after the meal) so that you’re not away from guests for too long. The best wedding photographs are those that capture emotion and this is what we am constantly striving to do. You will look and feel amazing on your wedding day so just relax and enjoy yourself!
