Photographing The Ceremony

There are a couple of options when it comes to the wedding ceremony. Couples can choose from tying the knot in the stables or outside in the stunning grounds. The option for an outdoor ceremony is music to any wedding photographers ears! It would also make your Colshaw Hall wedding photography extra special. However, we advise having another option though, in case of rain. The indoor ceremony space lets in plenty of natural light, perfect for wedding photography. Often churches can be very dark which compromises the quality of photos.

Picturesque Grounds

Weddings at Colshaw really benefit from the picturesque grounds. Having photographed many weddings at The Hall we are familiar with the best place to take photos. After the ceremony the guests are welcomed into the grounds for the drinks reception. During this time we capture the couples chosen group photos. The grounds work really well for these wedding pictures. Before the wedding we share a checklist with our couples to help them organise the family photos. In the run-up to the big day we are on hand to help and advise how best to fit your photography into your Colshaw Hall wedding. The Hall itself is a Grade II listed manor house, in the style of the Tudors. Having been a family run establishment for generations, there is a really homely feel despite the magnitude of the place. This is a testament to the hard work put in by the Irlam’s over the years to make this one of Cheshire’s number one wedding venues. The years of experience from the Irlam family really show at Colshaw Hall. They know how to put on a party! So much so that they have recently launched a brand new sister venue; Merrydale Manor. See our Merrydale Manor wedding photography if you’re engaged and undecided between these two stunning venues! The wedding ceremony space has been modelled on Colshaw Hall’s oak beamed barn. It’s perfect for decorating with your own unique wedding style. Using the same skills and dedication that made Colshaw Hall such an iconic wedding venue, the Irlam family are set to have another award winner on their hands. To get married here you’ll need to book early though as demand is through the roof.

Bridal preparation pictures

Another feature of this spectacular venue is the courtyard cottages. This is where the bride will get ready on the morning of the wedding. It’s picturesque and close to the venue for the ceremony. A beautiful space for preparation photos is essential. The morning is a great time to have a few group photos with bridesmaids and family. Our advice is not to overlook your bridal preparation photos. Make sure to book your photographer for this part of your day. Many a beautiful moment is had when the bride is getting ready.
