Mere Court Hotel Wedding Photography

One of Cheshire’s most popular wedding venues is the Mere Court Hotel. The venue was even built as a wedding present in 1903! It’s no wonder the country house makes for a perfect place to get married. Set within 7 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds there are many opportunities to capture wonderful wedding photographs. In spite of it’s rural setting the Mere is very easy to get to from the city and it only a short drive to the airport. Great for jetting off on your honeymoon right after the wedding!

Photographing The Ceremony

Some of the best wedding photographs at The Mere are captured during the ceremony. Engaged couples can choose to be married outside in the gardens. One of the best features of the property is the 7 acres of beautifully maintained gardens. It’s such a joy to photograph outdoor wedding ceremonies at The Mere. There are also beautiful indoor options if the weather isn’t suitable. If possible we would recommend an outdoor ceremony. Natural light cannot be beaten outside. However it’s still important to choose an experienced wedding photographer as harsh outdoor light can be challenging to work with. A skilled photographer will know how to deal with harsh light as well as low.

Award winning

The Edwardian country house now functions as a fabulous 4* hotel. Couples can rest assured that their guests will be well looked after in this award winning establishment. Boasting #1 hotel in Knutsford on Trip Advisor as well as an AA Rosette for their restaurant. The Mere Court Hotel is the complete package. As well as offering a comfortable stay and fantastic food the setting is beautiful. Each location for wedding photos is better than the last at The Mere.

Indoor spaces

Indoor ceremonies in the conservatory are great for wedding photographs. The floor to ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light. Light is the key component to wedding photography. Too bright and the photo will lose all detail, too dark and the image will be very grainy. Choosing an experienced wedding photographer who will be able to work in both bright and low light conditions is key to getting the best photos. We use high-grade cameras along with knowledge of utilising natural light to take stunning pictures indoors and outdoors. This approach keeps artificial lighting to a minimum as it can be distracting. There is a time and place for artificial light for example during the first dance. Wedding photography should always be as unobtrusive as possible.

The Mere Lake

Another stunning feature at The Mere Court Hotel is their lake. Couples can have their wedding ceremony in The James Braid Suite which was views looking out over the water. After the ceremony couples will take out time for photographs. On a sunny day there are few places more beautiful to take Mere Court wedding photography than by the lake. Having a beautiful natural feature is a bit plus for any wedding venue. There are few places in Cheshire were you can take such beautiful lakeside photos.
