Bridal Preparation Images

Our weddings at Styal Lodge always start with getting ready photos in the bridal room. We really recommend brides to get ready at their wedding venue if possible. Spaces like the bridal room at Styal Lodge are designed with getting ready in mind. They have large open spaces with plenty of natural light – so important for photos! Plus it saves on travel time which means you can have more time in the morning. We encourage the bride to take full advantage of having an amazing photographer for the day and plan in some group photos. It’s a really nice time to take pictures with bridesmaids and family members. We have put together a list of our top tips for getting the best bridal preparation pictures.

Bright Indoor Space

Wedding ceremonies at Styal Lodge are a dream to photograph! The ceremony room is really bright with a lovely rustic feel. Often period properties and churches are really lacking in natural light. Which is why barn venues are increasing so much in popularity! For photographers the bright indoor space is a dream come true. Light is such an important part of photography. Planning Photos

Once the wedding guests begin to the drinks reception we like to capture the couples group photos. In the lead up to the big day we plan exactly what photos the couple would like so the day runs smoothly and efficiently. Our dedicated studio manager makes sure there is enough time to capture the photos in the allotted time. It’s up to the couple how much time they want to dedicate to photos on their wedding day. It’s so important to spend time enjoying the day too!

Candid Pictures

Our style of photography is centred around natural moments. In the summer months we like to take lots of candid photos of the guests enjoying the outdoors at Styal Lodge. In the winter these can be taken inside the venue. For larger weddings we would recommend considering booking a second photographer. When your lead photographer is capturing group photos and couples portraits the second photographer can be taking candid photos. This is especially great if there is entertainment during the drinks reception like a magician. We love to capture guest reactions!
