It’s always a joy to be asked to photograph the wedding of a friend. Knowing the couple makes capturing their happiest moments even more special. It was so much fun being a part of Hayley and Chris’ wedding at Shrigley Hall.
Proceedings began with the bride as she got ready for the day ahead. We love capturing moments during bridal preparation, all the excitement and anticipation! Hayley looked amazing with makeup by Tammy Faye and wearing a stunning lace detailed gown from Alison Burgess. Her bridesmaids opted for nude pink dresses with gold detailing. These were complimented by the pink accents in the wedding flowers from Daisy’s. Meanwhile the groom and groomsmen were enjoying the summer sunshine with a few beers!

Traditional Church Ceremony
The couple chose to have a traditional church wedding ceremony at St Georges in Poynton. The church had beautiful large stained glass windows which let in loads of natural light. Often it’s very difficult to photograph in churches as they are quite often very dark. However the space was bright and had purple up-lights throughout creating interesting light to work with. After their vows the married couple walked down the aisle to a steam of bubbles which danced around them. Much less messy than confetti! It’s great to see couples putting their own twist on wedding traditions.

First Photos At Shrigley Hall
Afterwards everyone headed over to the reception venue. The newlyweds took their first wedding photographs at Shrigley Hall on the driveway in front of the estate. It was a beautifully sunny day, perfect for capturing wedding photos. All the guests enjoyed the grounds of Shrigley Hall with a drink or two as the final touches were put together on the reception room. I Do Venue Dressing did a fantastic job at bringing Hayley and Chris’ vision for their wedding styling to life. They had loads of flower details from a wall behind the couple to tree centrepieces on the tables.

Stunning Countryside At Shrigley Hall
One of the best features of Shirgley Hall is the stunning countryside views. After the meal Shane took the couple outside to capture photos of the two of them. Both Hayley and Chris were naturals in front of the camera. A favourite photo from the day was taken during sunset overlooking the countryside. Shrigley Hall is a fantastic venue for wedding photographs particularly in the summer months when the most can be made of the outside space.

The First Dance
Once photographs of the couple had been captured it was time to cut the gorgeous cake from For Goodness Cake. Always seems such a shame to cut up a beautiful cake! Hayley and Chris then marked the start of the party with their first dance together as husband and wife. Followed by Dream Sound Disco providing the soundtrack for the nights party.
