Wow, what a wedding this was! Sarah and Anna booked me for their Gorton Monastery Manchester wedding photography just over a year ago. Both brides loved natural wedding photography. Also, the Gorton Monastery Manchester is a very colourful venue so they were looking for a contemporary photographer. This wedding really was incredible. Check out the highlights below!
Bridal preparation at The Place Aparthotel in Manchester
Both brides and their bridesmaids were getting ready at The Place Aparthotel in Manchester city centre. Following tradition they did not see each other before the ceremony. First of all Sarah got ready and set off for the Gorton Monastery Manchester then it was Anna’s turn to get ready at the hotel.
All of the bridesmaids were there for the morning preparations and the day began with bacon butties shortly followed by prosecco. House Of Makeup were on hand to ensure that the girls looked beautiful. It was an emotional moment as the girls saw Sarah in her dress for the first time. A few of the bridesmaids shed a tear and this made for great natural wedding photos.
Personalised wedding dressing gowns were given to each of the bridesmaids and the Mum’s. This was a nice touch and cute details always make really nice photos. You can get inspiration for wedding details over on our Instagram and Pinterest accounts.
Natural wedding photography at the Gorton Monastery Manchester
Whilst Sarah made her way to the Gorton Monastery Manchester it was Anna’s turn to get ready. Excitement levels were high as the wedding ceremony was less than one hour away. Guests were also arriving at the Monastery who were greeted with champagne and red carpet.
The main ceremony room looked absolutely incredible. Giant LOVE letters made the perfect backdrop for their Gorton Monastery Manchester wedding photography. Candelabras with white roses were placed up the aisle and this gave a romantic feel.
During the ceremony there was laughter, smiles and tears. Anna walked up the aisle towards Sarah linking arms with her Dad. Both brides were ecstatic when they first saw each other. As a Manchester wedding photographer I love capturing natural moments like these.
Champagne and canapés in the courtyard
After the ceremony guests made their way out to the courtyard for champagne and canapés. Gorton Monastery Manchester wedding photography is always really fun but especially when the sun is shining and guests can enjoy themselves out in the courtyard.
As both brides loved natural photos I let guests enjoy their drinks whilst capturing the funny moments. Later on, we started the family group photos and then got the entire bridal party together for some relaxed shots.
One thing I really love about Gorton Monastery Manchester wedding photography is the beautiful purple arches that make stunning images. Just before the meal I captured some lovely portraits of the two brides together. Same sex weddings are always enjoyable to photograph as both brides in white dresses look amazing in pictures.
Sarah’s dress was from Aristocrats Of Chester and Anna’s dress was from Karen Lesley. Without looking at the camera, Sarah and Anna simply laughed whilst cuddling and this was all I needed to get some great shots.
A fun filled wedding reception
Now it was time for the speeches just before food was served. The speeches are always so unique at each wedding I photograph and the funny stories that are shared really give an insight into the brides personalities. A projector was used; displaying a slideshow of images over the many years that Sarah and Anna had been together. So many funny moments happened during the speeches so it was easy to capture the natural moments of laughter.
Sarah and Anna’s wedding reception at the Gorton Monastery Manchester was incredible. They had it all; an excellent band, sparklers, sweet cart, and our Photo Booth.
Giant LOVE letters were placed on the dance floor and vibrant purple uplighting filled the room with colour. Wedding photography at the Gorton Monastery Manchester always looks impressive as the venue is so incredible. The huge stained glass windows and gothic architecture really does look fantastic.
Photo Booth fun
Finally it was time for the brides to share their first dance together. As the girls danced, their friends and family joined them on the dance floor to celebrate their spectacular Gorton Monastery Manchester wedding. What an incredible day this was. Guests partied hard late into the evening and absolutely loved the wedding photo booth that we provided.
