Pictures from a luxury winter wedding at Oddfellows Chester
I was delighted when Sarah and Alex booked me for their Oddfellows Chester winter wedding photography. It’s always a fantastic opportunity to shoot at this amazing location.
Oddfellows Chester is a fantastic wedding venue set in a gorgeous Georgian building. The owners have paid so much attention to the decor and created a really fun and unique aesthetic. Bold colours can be found throughout Oddfellows. As well as whimsy touches like vintage typewriters hanging from the walls.
Sarah and Alex had their winter wedding at Oddfellows Chester which really suited their fun loving personalities. Winter weddings here really get to make the most of the quirky interiors. Not to mention that it was far too cold to be outside! Winter wedding photography is usually a challenge because of the weather, but not here at Oddfellows Chester.
Cute details
The couple chose some very apt table decorations. One card read ‘Baby it’s cold outside!’. The table and room dressing was impeccable, thanks to Couture Chair Covers. One of the reasons why Oddfellows Chester is such a highly acclaimed venue is because of the exceptional attention to detail.
A sophisticated and elegant bridal style
Sarah looked amazing for her big day. She wore a simple and elegant dress with a little bit of a twist. Her dress was just above the ankles and had little cut outs to the side. Completing the look, she chose a faux fur bolero.
Sarah’s dress was from Ted Baker and her shoes from Gianvito Rossi.
I love it when a bride breaks with tradition and goes for a dress that’s a bit different. With the choice of Oddfellows Chester as their winter wedding venue, I knew the day would be full of little quirks.
Hair and makeup was kept simple and elegant. Sarah booked TPL Hairdressing to create her elegant down do for the day. For the bouquet, Sarah chose a beautiful mix of pink, red and white roses created by Wild Floral Design.
Unique winter wedding pictures
Unique and unconventional features makes photography here a dream, especially during winter. Working as an Oddfellows Chester wedding photographer, you can really get creative.
I particularly like the giant wicker hares. They always make an interesting photographic backdrop. Particularly during the drinks reception when taking natural pictures.
The interiors at Oddfellows are really interesting and there is something to get guests talking round every corner.
Luxury touches
One of the details which I liked most the whole day was the wedding cake. Sarah and Alex pulled no punches and went for a very bold black and gold two tier wedding cake from Cakes by Stacey Anderson. Throughout my years working as a wedding photographer I have never seen a cake like it!
Also it was nice to see the colours from the wedding stationary being used in other parts of the wedding. The stationary was courtesy of Eagle Eyed Bride. One of Sarah’s requests was a picture of the invites. She loved them that much!
Party pictures!
Later in the evening, Tie The Knot Music got the party started in style. Guests were given glow sticks. This Oddfellows winter wedding looked like something out of a 90’s rave out on the dance floor! Who wouldn’t want to see Nan raving with a glow stick?
Photographing the evening party shots is always so much fun. Having cool accessories like glow sticks can really enhance the wedding photos. Furthermore, this is a great way to bring colour into the images.
As a photographer I also pride myself on being there to capture these images. Because of this my winter wedding photography package includes coverage not just to the first dance, but well into the party too. This is so important not to miss out on the wildest parts of the day!
Winter wedding photography at Oddfellows Chester
Oddfellows Chester winter wedding photography is always so much fun. I really can’t wait to shoot at this spectacularly odd venue again soon. It’s definitely one of Chester’s gems. Plus it’s not just weddings which are amazing here. Their chef is incredibly talented and I highly recommend popping in for some food or cocktails.
Thank you Sarah and Alex for making me a part of your special day. Check out the Oddfellows Chester winter wedding photography highlights from this magical day.
