Photos from a summer wedding at Bellavista Rochdale
Located in Rochdale, the Bellavista is a superb Italian restaurant that also specialises in weddings. With stunning scenery and large gardens, wedding photography here is a joy. Laura and Michael were married here and I was lucky enough to be their wedding photographer. It was hard to pick my favourites, but I have managed to select 50 of the best images from their day. As this was a summer wedding, sunset was late and the party continues long into the evening. Staying beyond the first dance and capturing party photos is included as standard within my photography prices. As Laura and Michael are a young couple, all of their friends jumped at the chance to get on the dance floor. Night time wedding photography is always fun and some of my best shots are from the evening.
A beautiful Italian restaurant in Rochdale
For years the predominant wedding trend was to get married in a country estate or manor house. Now however, couples are choosing from a much wider variety of venues for their big day. Laura and Michael ditched this tradition and chose to tie the knot in a lovely and intimate venue – the Bellavista Rochdale.
The Bellavista Rochdale is a fantastic Italian restaurant, it dates back to the 18th century where it was first a cattle barn. The building has beautiful original features and amazing views of the surrounding Pennines. The beautiful south facing gardens create the perfect setting for Bellavista Rochdale wedding photography.
Bridal preparation
Laura and Michael’s day started with me photographing the bridal preparation. The bride went for autumnal tones with her makeup, expertly executed by Lati Finni aka Makeup by Lati. Her hair was elegant and simple, courtesy of Razz and Company. Laura’s dress was from the fantastic Brides at Freedmans. The bridesmaids all wore long purple gowns, a good choice of colour palate for this summer wedding. Finally, the bride’s bouquet was crafted by The Flower Cellar.
An upbeat wedding ceremony
The ceremony was held at Chadderton Community Church. Oldham’s local band ensured that this was a lively wedding ceremony with lots of upbeats singing and hymns. Marriage is such a joyful occasion and it was amazing to see the joining of two families celebrated in such a wonderful way.
After the ceremony we set of for The Bellavista Rochdale. Laura and Michael left in style! Their vintage Volkswagen Beetle had a picnic basket fitted to the back with their ‘Just Married’ sign. In addition to this, floral garlands were attached to the front which completed the look. The vintage VW Beetle wedding car really was a lovely touch and made their Bellavista Rochdale wedding photography extra special. Inside the car was a little wicker basket with flowers and champagne. Adding some decoration is a great way to make things more special on the big day!
Bella Vista Rochdale wedding photos
Bella Vista Rochdale has a lot to offer as a wedding venue. The wedding breakfast room was decorated beautifully. Having a room with plenty of light really makes the difference as a wedding photographer. Some of the most important moments of the day are captured during the speeches. Capturing wedding photos at the Bellavista Rochdale was easy with plenty of available light.
Getting married at an incredible restaurant is something your guests will definitely thank you for as you know the food is going to be amazing. This was important to Laura and Michael who prioritised food, drink and fun!
After the wedding breakfast we got some photographs of the couple outside. They were lucky to avoid rain on their day and I got a lovely shot of the couple with the sunset behind them. Bella Vista Rochdale had plenty of opportunities for beautiful wedding photography. The views of the countryside are absolutely stunning. During the pre-wedding venue visit I was blown away by the views and photo opportunities.
Laura and Michael’s day ended with a good old party and lots of tequila shots at the bar!
