My Best Wedding Photos Of 2015
Wow, what a year! 2015 has literally flown by and I can’t believe that we’re now in 2016!! Throughout 2015 I photographed just short of 40 weddings, had 3 holidays and bought my first house in Manchester. Looking back, I can now see why it was so nice to finally relax over Christmas with my family and friends.
So where to begin? I took over 100,000 wedding photos in 2015 and have somehow managed to select my favourites. The first wedding I photographed in 2015 was on the 2nd January and was a very last minute booking… Sarah & Sam’s original photographer had cancelled their booking the night before their wedding so as soon as I heard this awful story I knew I had to photograph their day! It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this amazing wedding and help Sarah & Sam out in their last minute panic. The last wedding I photographed in 2015 was Cath & Dave’s beautiful winter wedding at Pecks restaurant in Congleton, Cheshire. This has to be some of the best wedding food I have ever eaten. Cath and Dave were even kind enough to seat me with their guests so I enjoyed a lovely 4-course meal at this luxury award winning restaurant. I will definitely be visiting Pecks restaurant again very soon! This restaurant has had countless celebrities through their door – including Harry Styles and One Direction, Manchester United and Manchester City football players, the Coronation Street stars, plus many others. Throughout 2015 I was also lucky enough to work at some absolutely amazing venues. I must thank all of the excellent planners and wedding coordinators who work tirelessly to ensure that every couples day goes smoothly and exactly as they wish. Here are some of the incredible venues that I was lucky enough to work at in 2015:
Sandhole Oak Barn, Abbeywood Estate, Manchester Art Gallery, Eaves Hall, The Monastery plus many more!
2015 Highlights
Earlier in 2015 I was extremely pleased to become a UK Fearless Photographers member – a network of the top wedding photographers in the UK and worldwide. There are only thirty other photographers in this network within the North West so it is a great achievement to be accepted. I have also had my work published in some of the top wedding magazines, blogs and also the Manchester Evening News. As a photographer it is always great to see my photographs printed and I must thank all of the editors who have kindly featured my work. Not only has my photography been featured in magazines, one of my photos from Sarah & Dean’s Abbeywood Estate wedding was also selected as the front cover for the Your Manchester Wedding Magazine August 2015 Issue.
At the start of 2015 I was very pleased to be listed in the Top 100 North West Photographers. Finally, I received a lovely email in December saying that I had been nominated as the Best North West Wedding Photographer in the Great Northern Wedding Awards 2016.
Personal life was good too!
In addition to photographing lots and lots of weddings, my non-work life was also great in 2015. My girlfriend and I purchased our first house and we’re now happily settled in Cheshire. I’m looking forward to having clients over to select their favourite wedding photos for their albums! I also made sure that I took three holidays – two summer holidays and one winter holiday snowboarding! Holidays help to refresh my mind and when I return to the UK I’m always buzzing for my next wedding. In 2016 I’ll be combining my love of travelling with weddings – shooting destination weddings throughout Europe and America – which I can’t wait for!
Here’s to 2016!
