Amy & Joe chose city centre venue Castlefield Rooms for their summer wedding. This casual wedding venue was the perfect choice for their laid back style. Castlefield Rooms is located in a particularly picturesque part of Manchester city centre. The venue looks out onto cobbled streets and had a lovely courtyard area out front. This is was the perfect place to capture a few photos of the bridal party before the wedding ceremony. Amy had a lot of bridesmaids and flower girls which drew lots of attention from passers by. All the girls looked beautiful in their tulle skirted dresses.
Rustic Ceremony
From the red brick outside of the building you would not expect the bright and airy barn like space inside the venue. With huge wooden beams the room lends itself to all kinds of decorative styles. Amy and Joe chose rustic stylings with bunting and fairy lights adorning the ceiling. So much light enters the room which makes taking photos of the ceremony a breeze. We love the details the couple chose for the space. At the aisle a gold frame held a simple floral garland – adding a modern vibe to the styling.
Natural Photos
After the ceremony we love to capture natural photos of the guests. At this point in the day everyone is full of emotion and well wishing the newlyweds. A natural photographer will blend into the background and capture these moments in a non obtrusive way. One of our favourite pictures is of a flower girl laughing, these beautifully candid moments are only possible to photograph with a relaxed approach.
City Centre Portraits
Most of the weddings Shane attends are in large countryside properties throughout the UK. It’s always a refreshing change to be able to photograph a wedding at a central location such as Castlefield Rooms. The city centre district of Castlefield is really a unique location for photography. Iconic red brick buildings and cobbled streets make the area very recognisable. Another feature is the expanse of canals which add another element to photos. Often couples choosing city centre venues worry that their photography will be compromised due to the lack of green spaces. This is not the case in Manchester – there are so many places for photos! Take some inspiration from our Manchester Town Hall wedding photography.
Wedding Speeches
Once all the guests were settled in the reception room the speeches began. More and more couples are choosing to have their wedding speeches before their meal is served. This is a great idea for anyone who may be a bit nervous giving their speech. It’s also great for the photography of the speeches as the tables are clear and pristine. These little details can make a big difference to wedding photos. A clean background free of distractions always creates the best setting for any photo.
