Colshaw Hall Wedding Photographer

Colshaw Hall Wedding Photographer – Shane Webber Photography

Louise and Adam booked me as their Colshaw Hall wedding photographer over a year ago. As a result, I had been looking forward to their big day for a long time! Colshaw Hall is undoubtedly one of the best venues in the UK. The hall has won numerous awards as a luxury Cheshire wedding venue. Louise booked me as her photographer after an extensive search and she was the perfect bride who wanted the exact style of photography that I offer – natural, fun and relaxed.

Their goal was to ensure that everyone had a great time. The bride and groom did not want a formal photographer bossing them around all day. Because of this I can safely say that this was one of the most laid back and fun weddings that I have been too – not to mention the awesome band who rocked the dance floor at the end of the night.

Louise and Adam’s friends and family were all so welcoming. I got to speak to many of them after the wedding breakfast as tea and coffee was served in the garden. The weather was absolutely amazing and even better was the fact that the only time it rained was for the duration of the meal. How lucky is that! Louise and I had been checking the forecast obsessively in the build up to the wedding. It was supposed to rain and we had our hearts set on outdoor photos. I’m so pleased to say that everything worked out perfectly and were were able to do their Colshaw Hall wedding photos outside. With 300 acres to play with, this private estate is a photographers dream!

About Colshaw Hall – Luxury Wedding Venue

Colshaw Hall is a tudor style manor house in the heart of Over Peover, Cheshire. The hall has been restored by the Irlam family, turning this spectacular building into a luxury award winning wedding venue. As a Colshaw Hall wedding photographer I really do appreciate the fantastic work that the Irlam family have done with the transformation.

The Grade II listed hall offers two options for wedding ceremonies. You can get married in The Stables which is licensed for civil ceremonies or outside in the magnificent grounds. Regardless of what you decide, Colshaw Hall is exclusively yours for the entire day. Additionally, their luxury wedding package even includes a toastmaster plus the option of an exclusive event planning service.

The bride and groom had picked Ian Brown from the Northern Guild Of Toastmasters for their wedding. He was excellent and on hand to help me out as their Colshaw Hall wedding photographer. They also decided to get married in The Stables which is absolutely beautiful. The Stables features a natural appearance with rustic wooden beams. This luxurious Cheshire wedding venue was built in 1903 and features impressively high ceilings, mullioned windows and elegant décor.

Inside you will find a deluxe bridal suite accompanied by 6 luxury bedrooms. This is ideal accommodation for the bridal party or immediate family at Colshaw Hall weddings. At the entrance of the private drive are the courtyard cottages which can be used for bridal preparation. Finally, the Japanese Gardens are just one of many incredible locations within this luxury estate which can be used for Colshaw Hall wedding photography.

Bridal preparation at the courtyard cottages

The bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the courtyard cottages of Colshaw Hall. The cottages are just a short walk away from the ceremony room. Louise was nervous and excited; the best emotions for natural wedding photos!

Shortly after I arrived the toastmaster delivered the gorgeous flowers from Country Flowers whilst the girls were popping bottles of champagne. Louise had picked white and pink roses for her bouquet, with smaller versions for her bridesmaids. The makeup artist, Lauren Shaw, did a fantastic job and within no time the bride was ready to get into her dress. Louise picked what has to be one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have ever seen. She went for a backless wedding dress from Dream Dress Bridal with lace details which she knew that the groom would love. We made sure that this was kept secret in the build up to the wedding during our consultation meetings! This brought a tear to the father of the bride’s eye as he saw his daughter just before the marriage.

Another emotional moment which I captured in my natural style as their Colshaw Hall wedding photographer. The girls were ready and it was time to get married! A cute addition to their Colshaw Hall wedding was the golf buggy which picks the bride and bridesmaids up from the cottage and takes them to ceremony.

A romantic wedding ceremony

The groom was waiting nervously as the bride arrived at the stables in which their ceremony would take place. Louise had requested a photo of Adam looking nervous and I love capturing natural moments like these.

The groom and his groomsmen looked incredibly smart as they were dressed in black tie dress code for the wedding. With such a well dressed couple this made my job as their Colshaw Hall wedding photographer even easier. The bride and groom naturally looked great together! Bursting with excitement, the bride and groom were all smiles for the ceremony. I snapped away taking natural photos. As they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife, Louise couldn’t hold back her excitement and raised her bouquet up in joy. This was one of my favourite Colshaw Hall wedding photos that I took all day. Guests were waiting with confetti as the bride and groom headed out into the ground on this gorgeous summer day. As a wedding photographer there is nothing better than bright blue skies for colourful photos!

Natural wedding photos at Colshaw Hall

Now it was time for one of my favourite parts of this Colshaw Hall wedding; the drinks reception. I photograph this part of the day in a documentary style, capturing natural photos of guests enjoying themselves whilst they drink champagne and sample the canapés.

I love the funny moments that happen after the ceremony as guests congratulate the bride and groom. Louise had requested a minimal amount of family group photos so that they could relax with friends before the meal. The sun was shining which really showed off the colours of the wedding guests outfits. It was a pleasure capturing the moments within the grounds of this incredible hall. The bride had selected pale blue bridesmaid dresses for the girls and I got some lovely photos of the four of them together. Adam and his six groomsmen also looked super cool in their black tie suits. They almost as if they should be celebrities or in a movie!

Peel Suite Reception

The Peel Suite looked absolutely incredible. Purple uplighting with elegant chandeliers was the perfect look for this luxury wedding. As their Colshaw Hall wedding photographer, this made my job of photographing the speeches more interesting. I could play with the lighting in my creative style with use of off camera flash. I also shoot mainly for colour rather than black and white images, so I’m always on the look out for colourful backgrounds when capturing wedding photographs.

The bride and groom were announced into the room by the toastmaster and their cheering guests, followed shortly by the speeches. Next, Louise’s Dad made such a lovely speech and this was only beaten by the grooms sincere speech. Of course, last by not least, the best man speech is always a funny one. As their Colshaw Hall wedding photographer it was my job to capture natural photos of everyone laughing.

To conclude this amazing Colshaw Hall wedding, the groom had booked a fantastic Manchester band called Quantum Class via Alive Network. It’s always great to book a band through a large agency such as the Alive Network. Agencies can recommend a band to match your exact requirements. Louise and Adam picked Quantum Class as they were a very energetic band and they wanted the atmosphere to be pumping for their evening reception as guests danced the night away. I knew that the party was particularly important to the groom so I stayed late to capture lots of natural dancing photos.

Colshaw Hall wedding photography is always so much fun but this was definitely one of the best receptions that I have seen! It was a real pleasure to be a part of Louise and Adam’s wedding. Here are the highlights from their day. I’m looking forward to being booked as a Colshaw Hall wedding photographer again soon. This is without a doubt one of my favourite venues to photograph in Cheshire.
