Victoria and Chris chose to host their beautiful summer wedding at the Grange Hotel in the Lake District. This luxury hotel has spectacular views out over the lake, perfect for wedding photos. The lake district offers a captivating setting and the weather on the day didn’t disappoint. It was a pleasure to be invited to photograph this gorgeous wedding.
Starting the day at the Grange Over Sands
Photographs started at bridal preparation. Shane likes to spend some time taking natural photos of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready in the morning. There are so many beautiful moments captured during this part of the day. Chris had organised for Victoria to be presented with heartfelt notes in the morning. These little touches make lovely images.
Hair and makeup was kept simple and elegant, provided by EmJ’s Hair Studio and Bridget Foster. The bridesmaids wore beautiful duck egg blue dresses from Coast. Victoria chose a high necked lace gown designed by Jesús Peiró from Marrime Bridalwear. The look was finished off with a beautiful leafy bouquet from Grange Flowers.
Unique wedding ideas
As the couple both got ready for their wedding at The Grange Hotel, Shane was able to photograph groom preparation also. Chris presented the groomsmen with their very own personalised beers. One really unique idea that Victoria and Chris had was to attach a Go Pro to a bottle of whisky. Guests took sis from the bottle which was later made into a video. We love when couples have fun and creative ideas which make their wedding stand out from the crowd.
Ceremony moments
Victoria and Chris had their wedding ceremony in one of the stunning rooms at Grange Hotel. It was a joy to photograph the couple exchange their vows. One of the moments from the ceremony has been chosen by Shane to feature in his wedding portfolio. Shane loves to photograph natural moments between couples. The image of Victoria and Chris being pronounced husband and wife was priceless. Grange Hotel wedding photography is beautiful both indoors and outdoors due to the large floor to ceiling windows.
Stunning grounds
After the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests were invited to the drinks reception in the gardens. The grounds at Grange Hotel are stunning, with so many places to take wonderful wedding photographs. Green space offers the perfect backdrop for natural photos of the couple greeting their guests. Victoria and Chris both have such great smiles which make for brilliant pictures. There are also some hilarious images of the guests enjoying the aforementioned whisky. Certainly makes for some unique wedding photography!
Grange Hotel wedding
Once the all important group photos had been taken it was time for the wedding breakfast. Grange Hotel’s reception room is beautiful with loads of 19th century features. Styling was executed perfectly thanks to the team at Ambience. Each table was given a postcard representing countries the newlyweds had been to. Again opting to be unique the ‘cake’ was a fantastic array of pies courtesy of Higginsons of Grange.
Couples portraits
After the meal Shane took Victoria and Chris into the gardens to photograph their portraits. Wedding photographers are spoilt for choice at the Grange Hotel. Boasting breath taking bay views, manicured gardens and woodland there are many opportunities for photos. The happy couple were naturals in front of the camera. Shane captured some lovely moments between them.
Party photos
As the evening party got under way that infamous bottle of whisky made the rounds again! Guests were all up dancing to Downtown Underground. Shane loves capturing the evening party – taking photos of everyone up dancing. Grange Hotel’s party room is fantastic for evening wedding photos. Lighting in the room is also perfect for wedding photography. When the sun goes down the colour changing room lighting makes for some great effects.
