As a wedding photographer running my own business, it’s always exciting when a new enquiry comes in, but this one was particularly exciting as it involved a trip over to the beautiful island of Ibiza! There’s something really special about destination wedding photography. All of the wedding guests are there not only to celebrate the marriage but also for a holiday and that puts everyone in a great mindset. When Leah and Sam first booked me for their Ses Savines Ibiza wedding I was absolutely buzzing and then even more so when I met them for a drink and to chat about their plans. They were the perfect couple who wanted the exact style of photography that I offer – natural, laid back and fun. “We trust you” were their words and this meant a lot. All they wanted was for everyone to have a good time and enjoy themselves which is how you get the best natural photos.
Bridal preparation at the villa
Leah and Sam had booked a beautiful villa for the week, Casa Juan Vich 2, which was located in Santa Eulalia not too far from Ibiza town and Es Canar. The girls were getting ready here in the morning and I arrived early to capture all of the fun and excitement before the wedding. The weather could not have been better for their Ses Savines Ibiza wedding and there was not a cloud in the sky. In the distance were the hills of Ibiza and the villa had stunning views all around, not to mention the beautiful pool! Bridal preparation mainly involved lounging around by the pool, laughing, joking, eating crisps and drinking beer. A perfect start to the day! Leah had picked a lovely floor length wedding dress with lace details from The Wedding Warehouse in Ascot. To compliment the blue Ibiza skies, Leah had selected bright yellow bridesmaid dresses for her girls which made for great colourful wedding photos. Yellow sunflower bouquets were also chosen to match the bridesmaid dresses and the vibrant colours were such a good pick!
An outdoor wedding ceremony on the beach
Wow, what can I say about this location for a wedding! Ses Savines Ibiza is such an incredible venue and one of the highlights has to be the beautiful beach front which is licensed for civil ceremonies and marriages. Lucy from Mambo Weddings did a fantastic job planning Leah and Sam’s big day, everything was perfect and all of the small details were taken care of. The sunflower floral arch looked incredible and was the perfect backdrop for their Ses Savines Ibiza wedding photography. When I arrived, the groom was waiting nervously and I’m sure he chose to wear sunglasses throughout the ceremony to hide his tears! It was an emotional moment as Leah walked down the aisle with her Dad. She looked absolutely stunning and had a beaming smile which set Sam off crying even more. As a wedding photographer, one of the highlights of a ceremony is when the groom cries as this always makes great natural pictures. To conclude this outdoor beach wedding, Leah and Sam had chosen to have a wine ceremony which reflected their laid back personalities and this was the first of many drinks to be consumed throughout the day!
Incredible food at Ses Savines Restaurant Ibiza
Another benefit of having a Ses Savines Ibiza wedding is that this venue is also an incredible beach front restaurant! The food was incredible and this was only to beaten by the hilarious speeches which followed shortly after. The best man speech in particular had everyone crying with laughter and I caught some fantastic moments by shooting in my documentary style. Sharon from Cup Cake Collection also did an excellent job with the cake which was a naked wedding cake decorated with white roses and yellow sunflowers. After the guests had finished their food, it was time for the bride and groom portraits and luckily enough there was a beautiful Ibiza sunset just over the hill. The view out to sea was the perfect backdrop for their Ses Savines Ibiza wedding photography and as the couple laughed and joke away I took lots of natural shots which is exactly what they wanted. This tattooed bride and groom absolutely rocked the pictures and looked so happy together. Being able to capture Ibiza sunset wedding photos was an absolute dream and I really hope that I get booked to come back to the white isle for another destination wedding soon!
