Lucy and Tim’s wedding was hosted at The Samling Windermere, a gorgeous country hotel in the Lake District. It was easy to see why the couple chose this venue to host their laid back wedding. Benefitting from stunning views across Lake Windermere and the surrounding countryside it’s the perfect place for wedding photography.
Two words which describe this Lake District wedding best is relaxed and elegant. Lucy and Tim were focused on creating a wedding that was less about formality and more about enjoying themselves with their friends and family. The Samling was a great choice of venue for this kind of wedding.

Stunning Ceremony Space
At The Samling Windermere the dining room is transformed into a stunning ceremony space. Floor to ceiling windows let in natural light and showcase the views across the Lake District, perfect for photographers. Lucy met Tim at the end of the aisle wearing an elegant Pronovias gown from Knutsford Wedding Gallery. After a beautiful ceremony the newlyweds and their guests adjourned to the terrace for drinks.

Confetti Photos And Beautiful Backdrops
Once outside and enjoying the summers day Shane was able to capture natural photos of the couple and guests. Hosting the drinks reception outside allows for the best photos of this part of the day. The outdoor areas at The Samling have such beautiful views as a backdrop which makes for wonderful wedding photos. One of our most loved photos from the day is Lucy and Tim sharing a kiss as they are showered with confetti. A confetti photo is always such a fun image to take and a great way of involving all guests in the photos. Read our blog on whether you should have confetti at your wedding.

Far Reaching Views
With such a relaxed wedding day only a short time was spent taking couples portraits. Luckily at The Samling you are never too far from a picture perfect spot. There are a few especially breath taking places for portraits only a short walk from the reception space. Lucy and Tim were naturals in front of the camera even though they didn’t want a lot of photos. We love the portrait of them with far reaching views of lake windermere as a backdrop.

Foodie Destination
While the guests were relaxing the ceremony room was transformed. The couple had chosen elegant floral centrepieces from Brackens Of Bowness. In particular the huge elevated bouquet on the top table which was adorned with hanging tea lights was stunning. Subsequently, everyone was invited into the room for the wedding breakfast. Aside from being a beautiful location for wedding photography The Samling is also a foodie destination. Guests were treated to a 7 course tasting menu! This just goes to show how much Lucy and Tim wanted the wedding day to be about enjoyment and spending time with their loved ones.

Evening Photos
Later on the couple had their first dance which started off the evening party. The band from Prescience Music encouraged everyone onto the dance floor. It’s always so much fun to capture photos of wedding guests cutting loose in the evening. All of Lucy and Tim’s wedding was laid back and so much fun to be a part of. We look forward to our next Samling Windermere wedding.
