It’s always nice when an old friend books you to photograph their wedding! Chris, the groom, was in my class at primary and secondary school so I have known him since a very early age which made this wedding particularly special. The bride, Sophie, was also in my year at secondary school which was where she met Chris! They have both been together for many years now and it’s great to see such a lovely relationship. It was my first time being booked for Ufton Court Barn Wedding Photography so I was really excited for this one.
Ufton Court Barn Weddings
When Chris first booked me for his Ufton Court Barn Wedding Photography I immediately checked out the venue on Google and it looked so nice. Tithe Barn at Ufton Court is such a traditional English wedding venue and it suited their laid back style perfectly. The venue was dressed with hanging fairy lights for the wedding ceremony and the timber pillars had been wrapped with ivy. These decorations made a great backdrop for their Ufton Court wedding photos and the fairy lights made for some beautiful out of focus bokeh. The courtyard was also ideal for the bride and groom portraits and it looked stunning with white tree blossom on the grass. Rustic red bricks in the background also complimented the vintage style of their Ufton Court Barn Wedding Photography.
About Ufton Court
Tithe Barn at Ufton Court is located in Reading within the beautiful English county of Berkshire. Ufton Court is set in 16 acres of grounds and is a Grade I listed manor house. The history of this building is amazing and I actually went on a school trip with the groom, Chris, here when we were younger. The vast amount of land is perfect for Ufton Court Barn Wedding Photography and the bright summer colours suited my creative style perfectly. The garden at Tithe Barn was also great for capturing natural wedding photos in my documentary style as the guests enjoyed canapés and champagne. Ufton Court Barn makes a great summer wedding venue and the staff are absolutely excellent, tailoring their services to the bride and grooms requirements. They also offer two other locations for a civil ceremony – Archer’s Hall or the Long Ceremony room in the Manor House. As a Manchester wedding photographer, Ufton Court Barn was not within my usual working area however it was great to work at a new venue and get a trip down South! I’m hoping to be back for more Ufton Court Barn Wedding Photography soon.
Mabel the dog ring bearer
Sophie & Chris’ wedding ceremony at Tithe Barn was beautiful. It was really relaxed which matched their calm personalities and the registrar was really welcoming. The highlight of the ceremony had to be when the bride and grooms dog, Mabel, ran down the aisle to deliver the rings. It’s such a nice touch having a dog ring bearer and as a pet lover this made my day! Mabel the dog was also around for photos after the marriage and I know that these will be some of Sophie & Chris’ favourites. Dog wedding photos are unique and a pet is an important part of any marriage. I have photographed well over 100 weddings and this is the first time I have ever had the chance to photograph a pet at a wedding so I’m really hoping that I get to see more dogs at weddings in the future!
A summer wedding at Tithe Barn
This traditional English countryside venue was the perfect choice for Sophie & Chris’ Ufton Court Barn Wedding Photography as their guests could enjoy drinks in the grounds whilst the kids played on space hoppers and played football in the garden. Sophie selected a beautiful floor length wedding dress from Boo Bridal with lace details and paired this with a stunning bouquet by Moutan which featured pink, yellow and beige roses. The groom also looked very smart in a textured blue suit paired with a soft pink tie and rose. Sophie also selected a soft pink bridesmaid dress with lace details and smaller matching flowers. The wedding cake had white icing with pink rose details which matched Sophie’s bouquet. Unique cakes by Yevnig did a great job on this one! For dinner, guests were treated to a greek sharing platter which was a nice touch and later they enjoyed mini beef pie canapés which I believe were called ‘canapies’. Finally, their was a Photo Booth to keep everyone entertained during the reception and the wedding band, The Rustiques, filled the dance floor and had everyone partying which made for awesome natural photos. I love capturing party photos at weddings as this is the time when everyone really lets loose. Thank you to Sophie & Chris for booking me as their Ufton Court Barn wedding photographer. I’m really hoping to be back here again soon!
