Wedding photography allows you to meet so many amazing couples and be a part of their most special day. Lyndsay and Beth are such a positive and friendly pair, photographing their wedding at Windy Harbour Farm was such a joy. Their day was really focused on being fun and there were a few surprises along the way!

Bridal Preparation Moments

The day started with Beth at bridal preparation. Fizz was flowing and everyone was having a great time getting ready. Blessed with Beauty came along to do all the girls hair and Aspect Rochdale provided the make up. One of the best moments to photograph was Beth reading her personalised love story from Lyndsay. So often we see couples sharing hand written notes and cards on the morning of the wedding day. It was great to see something unique and how special it was to Beth. Because of moments like these bridal preparation is one of our favourite parts of the day to capture. Read our guide on how to get the best bridal preparation photos.

Perfect Venue For Wedding Photos

Once the couple were ready it was time for the wedding ceremony at Windy Harbour Farm. Set within the foothills of the Peak District this countryside venue is perfect for wedding photos. Pulling up to the venue for the first time guests are struck by beautiful country vistas. Turning to the ceremony space, the large sky light allows for great photos. Divine Design did a fantastic job of decorating the venue ready for the engaged couple to say their vows. It was a cheerful wedding ceremony full of smiles and laughter.

Natural Wedding Photography

Afterwards the wedding party were ushered outside to enjoy the country views and drinks. At this time of the wedding there are so many lovely natural moments to capture with guests congratulating the newlyweds. At Windy Harbour Farm the countryside backdrop is perfect for wedding photography. It’s easy to take pictures of everyone chatting as there is so much beautiful green space to take advantage of. By the time everyone had filtered outside Lyndsay and Beth’s surprise was ready! The couple had planned to release butterflies to celebrate their nuptials. It was such a unique and beautiful touch. Instead of flying away the butterflies would gently sit on the couples hand. Some nestled themselves within the wedding bouquets, making for a beautiful photo that the couple can be sure is unique to their wedding.

Stunning Wedding Photos At Windy Harbour Farm

Windy Harbour Farm offers stunning backdrops for wedding photography. Lyndsay and Beth’s couples portraits with the Peak District’s hills in the background are among our favourites from the day. Naturally they both looked beautiful wearing their Maggie Sottero gowns. Whilst the adults were entertained with a few drinks and the children with outdoor games Shane captured the newlyweds first photos as a married couple.

Emotional Speeches

As soon as the reception room was ready the speeches began. Taking photos of the speeches is always so much fun. Emotions run high and it’s a great way to get to know so much more about the couple. Both Lyndsay and Beth are such happy and positive people, this really shone through during the speeches. It was lovely to see them thanking everyone who had helped them in the run up to their special day.

Confetti At Dusk

Soon after the meal was over the couple cut their splendid cake from Candy’s Cupcakes. Then onto the first dance marking the start of the party! The evening entertainment was provided by Samantha Murphy which got everyone out on the dance floor. Shane often stays well into the evening party to capture photos. Some of the best pictures of the whole wedding are taken at this time. In particular the confetti picture captured at dusk has to be a favourite photo from Windy Harbour Farm.
