Rebecca and Anthony booked me for their Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire wedding photography. The wedding was absolutely amazing. A beautiful church ceremony was followed by an evening reception at the Yellow Broom Restaurant in Cheshire. It was a glorious summers day and the conditions were perfect for wedding photography. Check out the photo highlights from their big day.
Wedding Photography at the Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire
It was my second time photographing a wedding at the Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire. This wedding venue has a really lovely intimate feel as it is a family run business. As a successful restaurant the food is superb too.
Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire wedding photography is so enjoyable when the weather is nice. The restaurant features an outdoor seating area where guests can snack on canapés and soak up the sun. Kids can also play in the garden which makes for great natural wedding photos.
Bridal preparation at Curlew Cottage Knutsford
Rebecca was getting ready at Curlew Cottage in Knutsford. I turned up to photograph bridal preparation early in the morning and the girls were outside on the patio reading magazines and sunbathing.
Curlew Cottage is available to rent for long weekends and short stays. Situated in the countryside of Knutsford, the cottage features picturesque views along with an outdoor hot-tub. There are even friendly alpacas in the fields who come to greet you upon arrival!
Booking a separate venue for bridal preparation can really help your wedding photographer as often hotel rooms can be dark and gloomy. This venue was the complete opposite; spacious with plenty of natural light. I was able to capture some lovely photos here at Curlew Cottage prior to Rebecca and Anthony’s Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire wedding.

A small church ceremony
Rebecca and Anthony’s wedding ceremony was held at Saint Oswald’s Church in Lower Peover. This church is small with lots of character. During the ceremony the priest was so friendly and made everybody feel at ease.
The dark conditions proved difficult for natural wedding photography without flash. However the Canon 5D Mark III’s are excellent in low light – particularly when paired with prime lenses.
Capturing moments without flash helps me to blend in as a wedding photographer. Often guests don’t like having their photo taken so this approach helps to remain unobtrusive.
Within no time at all the newly weds were married and walking back down the aisle as husband and wife. Friends of the bride and groom greeted them with hugs and confetti. Because everybody was so happy to congratulate the couple, I got some amazing photographs of the celebrations.

Summer wedding at the Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire
Next it was on to the Yellow Broom Restaurant for the wedding reception. Before the meal was the time allocated to wedding photography. Starting with a group photo of everybody, we then made our way through the group photos of family members and the bridal party. Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire wedding photography is made easy by the beautiful gardens at the side of the venue. I got the group shots done as quickly as possible so that I could get back to natural wedding photography.
Shortly after the group photos the bride and groom spent 15 minutes or so having some nice relaxed portraits taken. The couple didn’t particularly like being photographed so they didn’t want anything “cheesy” or awkward. When photographing the portraits I much prefer couples to be looking at each other and doing something simple – such as walking or cuddling – rather than staring into the lens of my camera. Yellow Broom Restaurant Cheshire wedding photography suited their personalities perfectly. This wedding photography style helps couples to relax and they can actually enjoy being photographed.
I can highly recommend the Yellow Broom Restaurant to any engaged couples that are looking for an intimate and exclusive family run venue for their wedding. The Yellow Broom is perfect for relaxed wedding photography and couples that desire outstanding catering.
