With our offices located just a short drive away from this gorgeous countryside venue, we are often commissioned by engaged couples for Abbeywood Estate wedding photography.
Lauren and Lee got married here in September on a beautifully sunny day and wanted all natural pictures. The bride also loved colour photography. Therefore we were a perfect match for her Abbeywood Estate wedding photography.
With so many gorgeous flowers and outdoor space, working at this estate is a wedding photographers dream. Taking pictures is effortless. Especially when everyone is dressed immaculately and loving every minute!
It was a tough job picking our favourite photos from this Abbeywood wedding. Enjoy looking through the selection and if you are looking for an Abbeywood Estate wedding photographer then please contact us for more information.
Summer wedding photography at Abbeywood Estate
Wedding photography at Abbeywood Estate is always so much fun, but even more so in summer. The gardens are absolutely stunning and when the sun is shining this suits my bright and colourful style perfectly.
Abbeywood Estate is undoubtedly one of Cheshire’s finest wedding venues with a natural and outdoor feel. This family owned venue boasts a rustic feel with countryside charm and is perfect for engaged couples wanting a traditional English wedding. With 45 acres of land available, the beautifully kept gardens and charming woodlands provide endless backdrops for wedding photographs. Because of this, Abbeywood is a joy for any photographer to work at.
Starting the day with bubbles
Lauren and her bridesmaids were full of excitement in the morning and enjoying glasses of fizz! Bridal preparation is always an exciting time of the day that I love capturing. As a photographer it’s important to arrive early and meet everyone so that they’re relaxed in front of the camera. Lauren made a special effort with the details by providing matching silk dressing gowns for her bridesmaids. Little touches like this really add to the sense of occasion and help make extra special photos.
Unique bridesmaid dresses
The bridesmaid dresses were amazing. Lauren picked a unique dress for each of her bridesmaids within the same colour palette. Brides often struggle to decide what will look best on their friends and what they will feel comfortable in. Allowing the girls to pick styles that suit them best but keeping to the chosen colour scheme works so well.
With different hairstyles too, the bridesmaids were well looked after by hair stylist Emily Claire Wells. Wearing a long and elegant gown by Mikaella Bridal, the bride opted for a soft and neutral makeup by the talented Lucinka Hodnett.
Laughs and giggles during the ceremony
Saint Bede’s Catholic Church, which was just around the corner from the brides Mum’s house, was the ceremony venue. Lee was fairly calm as he waited for his bride’s arrival. One of the highlights of the ceremony had to be the bridesmaids singing the hymns. Giving it their all, the girls laughed and swayed from side to side during “Sing Hosanna”. Fun moments always make the best natural photographs!
After the ceremony, guests congratulated the bride and groom outside as the sun was beaming. Saint Bede’s church featured a vibrant bright blue door which created a bold pop of colour perfect for the wedding photos.
Setting off for Abbeywood Estate in style, Lauren and Lee departed in a bright red vintage wedding car. The gorgeous motor belonged to their family which is much more personal than simply hiring a car.
Abbeywood Estate wedding reception
As soon as the newly weds arrived at Abbeywood Estate we went for a walk around the grounds to capture some nice and relaxed portraits. With long grasses and stunning flowers, Abbeywood’s beautifully manicured garden gave the most serene background to my pictures of the happy couple. Wedding photography at Abbeywood Estate really is effortless. Everywhere you look is so picturesque!
The estates Glasshouse is the perfect setting for a summer wedding reception. This impressive glass structure can hold up to 190 guests. On a gorgeously sunny day there was no better choice for the couple.
Simple and sophisticated table decorations were completed by amazing flowers from Frodsham Flowers. Lauren and Lee kept it classy with a three tiered white wedding cake from Marks and Spencer. They used some of their beautiful bouquets as decorations which was a nice touch.
As the Glasshouse lets in so much natural light, I was able to capture moments during the speeches really well. Sometimes it can be a challenge to photograph inside low lit venues, so this bright summer wedding was an absolute treat for me.
Equally enjoyable are the photographs when the sun sets. Later on I captured a night time image of Lauren and Lee in the car park of Abbeywood Estate. By using a long exposure and a tripod I was able to capture the glow of the night sky and capture the stars. This image features in my 50 best wedding photographs of all time.

Ending the wedding with fun party pictures!
Abbeywood Estate’s wedding team did an excellent job of turning the room around swiftly ready for the evening party. Guess partied hard as the band, Mojo Circus, kept everyone on their feet. With 300 guests the dance floor was packed at all times.
Here are the highlights of Lauren and Lee’s Abbeywood Estate wedding photography.
