Images from a sophisticated winter wedding at Chester Town Hall
It was fantastic to be asked by Sarah and Alex to be their Chester Town Hall wedding photographer. What a beautiful venue to get married in! This prestigious venue boasts beautiful gothic architecture and makes for fantastic wedding photography.
With so many amazing backdrops and historic features, this wedding was a real joy to photograph. Check out the photo highlights from their Chester Town Hall wedding photography.
The dress, flowers and shoes
The bride looked amazing on her big day. She went for a really simple and elegant look with a beautiful satin wedding dress and sophisticated silver shoes.
Makeup and hair was also kept effortless and beautiful. The bride wore a chic down do for her wedding hair. For the wedding flowers Sarah chose a colourful selection of roses.
Low light wedding photography
Sarah and Alex married in the beautiful Chester Town Hall. There are fantastic photographic opportunities here. Because of it’s spectacular architecture indoor shots are extra special.
It can be very difficult to take beautiful photographs inside of the Chester Town Hall. This is because the light levels can be low and therefore makes it difficult to take the perfect shot. Chester Town Hall wedding photography is a challenge but very rewarding.
It’s so important to book an experienced wedding photographer. One reason why is that they will have worked in many different venues and have the ability to find the best light. As the light levels are low inside the building I took the married couple outside for some portraits. We made the most of the amazing architecture by using the ornate wooden door as a backdrop.
Confetti beneath the stairway
One of the best photographs from Sarah and Alex’s wedding was of the confetti. The couple stood with their friends and family on the balcony. After the count of three they showered the couple with the confetti. The confetti photograph was made even more stunning by the impressive Christmas garland. The confetti itself looked like indoor snow!
Confetti shots are some of my favourite to shoot. Setting your friends and family up with loads of confetti is a great way to get some really memorable Chester Town Hall wedding photography.
One of my favourite confetti shots was featured in Wedding Ideas Magazine. It was used as the cover photo and I was really proud to see my image on the shelves!
Chester Town Hall wedding ceremonies
Chester Town Hall is a really special venue you have your wedding ceremony. The newlyweds chose to have just their ceremony at the venue. But the Town Hall can host your whole day too.
For more information visit the Chester Town Hall website or contact them on 01244 304660.
Having your whole wedding day here creates even more opportunity for Chester Town Hall wedding photography.
Wedding Planning Tip – Cutting out the travel between two venues allows more time for your photographer to take stunning portraits. Couples always underestimate the time it takes to get the group shots of their friends and family. It’s always nice to be afforded a bit of extra time.
The perfect backdrop for pictures
Chester Town Hall presents the perfect backdrop for natural wedding photography. Surrounding the hall you can find cobbled streets and vintage brickwork. It’s right in the town centre too. Therefore you can make use of the urban surrounding and use the leading lines creatively.
My style of photography is to let the day flow and capture the special moments that occur throughout a wedding. This ensures that your pictures really tell the story of your day.
Having a wedding in a gorgeous setting such as Chester Town Hall really makes wedding photography easy. I am lucky to get to spend most of my weekends at some of the most beautiful venues in UK and abroad.
