Perfect city venue
Ruth and Tom married at the fantastic Manchester Art Gallery. This is one of my favourite city centre wedding venues. City venues are fun a fun and alternative choice. There are so many opportunities for amazing Manchester Art Gallery summer wedding photographs. Fun and personality
We absolutely love weddings which are full of personality, they make getting amazing photography so much easier. This wedding has bags of exactly that. One of my favourite quotes from the day was “Ruth didn’t have bridesmaids – she had Australians!”. The brides best friends from Australia flew over for the wedding and were ‘Australians’ for the day rather than bridesmaids.
Dancing the night away
Summer wedding photography at Manchester Art Gallery was great fun. Made even more so by the laid back approach of the couple. The emphasis was on fun, good food, flowing drinks and dancing. Which is perfect for getting the best photographs of your guests having a great time.
The great outdoors
The best thing about a summer wedding? The weather (hopefully). When the weather is good this is a photographers dream, the couple won’t mind stepping out and getting some fantastic outdoor photos. For Manchester Art Gallery this is great, especially in the summer, as it’s so close to the City Centre.
Urban summer photography
We got some amazing shots of Ruth and Tom in and around Manchester. Had to avoid getting hit by a tram along the way, but it was well worth it. Summer is by far the best time for urban photography such as this. Each city has characteristics and notable landmarks, using the city as a canvas can create some really unique summer images.
The atrium at The Gallery
For summer weddings at The Gallery, the couple benefit from the gorgeous atrium. This is where receptions are held at Manchester Art Gallery, and where you can get some amazing summer wedding photography. The Atrium allows so much natural light to flow in, making it a photographers dream.
Get married by works of art
Another fantastic feature at the Manchester Art Gallery is the inside of the building. If you happen to get a bit of rain on your summer wedding day, having some good indoor space is key. At this venue, the couple can enjoy the sizeable indoor space, surrounded by the artwork. You can even have your ceremony inside as Ruth and Tom did.
Manchester Art Gallery Summer wedding photography
Although a wedding in the winter months can be stunning, like Sarah & Alex’s at Oddfellows Chester, choosing to have your wedding in the warmer summer months certainly makes things easier. From a photographers perspective, things are a lot easier. Light levels, what to do in the rain, it being too cold for the bride outside, these are all challenges you shouldn’t face in the summer time.
