Manchester Golf Club Wedding Photography

Jennifer and Martin had a laid back family focused wedding. As a natural wedding photographer Shane loves to capture this kind of wedding. Our favourite type of photos are candid and natural moments between the couple and guests. When couples approach us they often are quite shy about posed photographs and mainly want natural pictures from their wedding day. We love capturing these moments which is why this type of photography has become a cornerstone of Shane’s style. Read more about his style of photography.

Special Moments

The morning began at Jennifer’s family home with bridal preparation. This is such an important part of the day to have captures as so many special moments happen. This relaxed Manchester Golf Club wedding had lots of little ones in attendance which made the morning full of fun. Getting lots of children into their outfits and ready for the day ahead is not a small feat! It was chaotic but loads of fun and a fantastic opportunity to capture documentary style images.

Church Ceremony

After bridal preparation the party moved onto the church ceremony. On this beautiful summers day the light was perfect making it a breeze to capture images in the church. Often churches can be difficult to photograph in. This is because they often have windows which don’t let in a lot of light. Although strained glass is beautiful it can mean a lot less light enters the room. However St Matthews Church in Chadderton has the side walls flanked by huge windows and at the end of the alter the biggest floor to ceiling window of all. On a summers day the light levels are perfect for photographs.

Group Portraits

Once the couple were officially husband and wife everyone moved onto the golf club for group portraits. We know that couples love to have group portraits of their friends and family. But we also know that nobody wants to spend hours taking these photos! In all the excitement everyone just wants to have a drink and relax. This is why we have an example list of the most important photos to help couples pick and choose what to have on their day.

Relaxed Couple Photos

Just before everyone settled down to enjoy the meal Shane spent a little time with the couple for their portraits. As Jennifer and Martin loved natural photography and didn’t want to dedicate lots of time on the day to photos Shane kept the images as relaxed as possible. By using the available light and photographing through branches a lovely effect was created on the images. Photographing through objects to either create interesting light or depth is something Shane loves to do. This produces a more captivating image. At Manchester Golf Club there are plenty of green spaces to utilise for this kind of photography.

Speech Photography

Another part of the day where natural photography is so important is the speeches. Take a look at our favourite speeches photos over the last few years. When looking at wedding venues we recommend looking for a light and bright space for speeches. When photographers shoot in low light it can create ‘noise’ in images. This means that they appear less sharp, a skilled photographer will still be able to capture beautiful photos but it’s a challenge. The best speeches pictures are captured when the quality of light is at it’s best.

Sunset Photography At The Golf Club

The golf club’s grounds looked stunning in the setting summer sun. Shane used this opportunity to capture beautiful ‘golden hour’ portraits. Perhaps the best time of the day to take pictures is when the sun is setting. On a clear day a lovely golden light shines through which is incredibly flattering in images. Jennifer and Martin looked natural in front of the camera, their happiness shining through.
