Sharon and John chose Oak Tree of Peover as the venue for their summer wedding. With rustic charm and plenty of natural light it’s a fantastic choice loved by wedding photographers. The couple chose to host their entire wedding at the venue from bridal preparation through to the reception. Sharon and her bridesmaids prepared for the wedding in the beautiful bridal suite. We love taking bridal preparation photos and capturing these special moments of the day. The bridesmaids all wore matching silk dressing gowns. Which looked great in pictures! The very talented Sarah Meredith was on hand for hair and makeup.

Little touches
The colour scheme for the Mori Lee bridesmaids dresses was a deep purple accented with light pink peony bouquets from White Room Floral Design. Whilst the bride wore a traditional off the shoulder white gown from Dress The Bride. The bridal party all looked beautiful. Before leaving for the ceremony Sharon handed out gifts to her bridesmaids each in beautifully decorated personalised gift boxes. Little touches like this are always nice to capture in photographs before the big day, they are a great way to make your wedding unique. When booking your wedding photographer be sure to ask when they usually start and finish the day. If you are exchanging gifts in the morning or reading a card from the goom it’s important to capture these moments. Our tips for getting the best bridal preparation photos will ensure you get the best photos possible.

Photographing the ceremony
Their wedding ceremony was held in the stunning Acorn Lounge. This oak beamed room is flooded with natural light from its floor to ceiling windows. Taking photos of wedding ceremonies at The Oak Tree is an absolute joy. Some of our favourite images from the day are of Sharon and John tying the knot. Beautiful golden light looked stunning against the natural oak beams and greenery. Both the bride and groom were all smiles, making for wonderful pictures. The ceremony space is a blank canvas which couples can make their own with wedding flowers and styling. We love to see couples make their wedding ceremonies unique, read our tips on how to plan an unsual wedding ceremony.

Lakeside Wedding Photography
After the ceremony we accompanied the couple and close family to the grounds for group photographs. A summers day at The Oak Tree is a perfect setting for photographing couples portraits. Usually we photograph the group pictures first and then focus on getting the couples photos. We specialise in natural wedding photography which is bright and contemporary. For us it’s so important that the couple are relaxed. Sharon and John looked incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. Our favourite image from the day is of the couple stood on the bridge over the Oak Tree of Peover’s lake.

Heartwarming speeches
Another aspect of the day that we love to photograph is the speeches. It’s always great to have a naturally lit room to take these photos in. Summer weddings at The Oak Tree of Peover enjoy fantastic lighting – making photos of the speeches even better. The reception room was elegantly decorated with greenery and blush pink florals. These details provided a gorgeous backdrop for photos. As always the speeches were a mix of heartwarming and funny. Hearing all the wonderful stories during the speeches is just one reason why working as a wedding photographer is so rewarding.
Chinese tea ceremony
After the wedding breakfast Sharon and John’s immediate family took part in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. A quick change into Chinese wedding outfits brought a colourful twist to the wedding day. Both dressed in red symbolising luck, happiness and joy. The ceremony is steeped in symbolism and is a beautiful way of including all the family in the wedding proceedings.
Evening party
For the evening party the room was transformed into a vibrant dance floor. Sharon and John booked Andy Murphy to DJ the evening, getting everyone up dancing. We like to stay later than the first dance to capture some party pictures. There are plenty of opportunities for candid photos when everyone is having a great time. It was a pleasure to be a part of this beautiful summer wedding at The Oak Tree of Peover.
