Victoria and James’ wedding day began at Peckforton Castle for bridal preparation. The bridal party were getting ready in one of the beautiful rooms at the castle. Spirits were high whilst Hair By Vicky and Amy Elizabeth got the ladies ready for the day ahead. Victoria looked perfect in her Pnina Tornai gown from Ivory Promise. After the bridal party was ready they set off for the ceremony. Victoria’s Dad linked arms as he prepared to walk his daughter down the aisle.
Stunning Ceremony Space
Peckforton Castle is known for being a stunning location for wedding photos due to it’s expansive grounds and beautiful interiors. Victoria and James’ ceremony room certainly did not disappoint. The team at Luxury Events Group had created the most beautiful space for the couple to say their vows. Blossom trees lined the aisle along with gorgeous flowers from Ian Lloyd. Their ceremony was beautiful and even had an owl delivering the rings. This unique touch was provided by Wings Bop. As a wedding photographer unusual elements like this are challenging and exciting to capture.
Winter Wedding Photos
Once the ceremony was finished guests were invited into the grounds. As this was a winter wedding time outside was kept to a minimum. Luckily for the couple it was bright despite being cold. Peckforton Castle offers plenty of locations for wedding photography even during the winter months. Shane always tries to take group photos outside where possible in the winter as the light is at it’s best.
Ambient Lighting
Afterwards the couple were welcomed into the reception room by toastmaster Bob Williams. The room was decorated beautifully with white blossom trees, white roses and candles. Shane loves to utilise room decorations in the wedding photos. Using candles or flowers to frame a photo creates depth and makes for more interestingly composed images. Likewise photographing through fairy lights or prisms creates stunning photographs. This is particularly useful in the winter months when natural light is reduced. Using ambient light from the room decorations ensures stunning winter wedding photography. As for the speeches they were great fun. Made even better that it was Victoria’s birthday and she got a special cake (as well as the wedding cake!).
Party Atmosphere
For the evening reception the room was transformed. It was lit with purple up-lights creating a party atmosphere. Victoria’s bridesmaids signalled the start of the party leading the way to the dance floor with sparklers. Then Girl on Sax and Hipswing got everyone out onto the dance floor. Shane loves to capture photos of everyone dancing and enjoying themselves. Providing entertainment and performers is a fantastic way of creating the ultimate wedding party.
