We were really excited after meeting with Michelle and Sally to discuss their wedding. Firstly they chose Sandhole Oak Barn which is one of our favourite venues, it has gorgeous scenery and a laid back approach. The team at Top Table do a fabulous job on each wedding there. Secondly they had chosen a theme which we have never seen before – cowboy! This was complete with hats! It’s always great to see couples having fun with their wedding day and incorporating themes and styles which reflect their personalities.
Both brides looked beautiful wearing Anna Sorrano dresses from WED2B bridal shop. They were all smiles during the wedding ceremony in the barn. Photographing the vows at Sandhole Oak Barn is always a pleasure as it’s such a bright and airy space. The wooden beams were entwined with fairy lights which gave a soft light to the photos.
After the ceremony the brides went down the aisle to cascades of confetti. This is a great time to get the confetti shot! Read our advice on having confetti at your wedding for tips on getting the most out of this picture. It was then time for the drinks reception where guests were treated to ice cream with a toppings bar. One smaller guest in particular seemed to be enjoying his – which made for a great candid photo!
Natural Pictures At Sandhole
Once all the guests are outside enjoying the beautiful scenery and a drink or two it’s the best time for formal portraits. The majority of Shane’s photos will be natural pictures however it’s still important to capture a few group photos. We try to get these pictures captured efficiently so that everyone can go back to having fun! Then Shane will take the couple away to take a few photos of the two of them. It’s completely up to the couple how long they want to dedicate to photos on the day. At venues like Sandhole Oak Barn there are so many locations for beautiful photos really close by.
Moving into the evening everyone was in the party spirit. Michelle and Sally chose Hipswing Entertainment for their evening party so we knew it was going to be a good one! Shane usually stays around an hour after the newlyweds first dance to capture these party moments. Some of our favourite wedding pictures are taken during this last hour!
