Hannah and James had a beautiful wedding at the stunning Mythe Barn. The barn venue is known for its fusion of rustic charm with modern accents. It’s the perfect place for a summer celebration with floor to ceiling windows letting in lots of natural light and expansive grounds to enjoy into the evening. The contemporary design makes this wedding barn truly unique and such a delight to photograph.

Dress Reveal At Mythe Barn

Our day began with bridal preparation. Hannah decided to get ready at her parent’s house and then move to Mythe Barn for the finishing touches. We love this idea as the wedding photos benefit from the beautifully designed oak beamed rooms at Mythe Barn. One of the best parts of bridal preparation to photograph is the reactions from loved ones seeing the bride in her wedding dress for the first time. Hannah looked beautiful and her bridesmaids had such a lovely reaction, there were a few tears! Being able to capture these moments in time in photographs is such a joy. If you want to have beautiful dress reveal pictures the location is important. Your photographer will be able to locate a nice clean background for the image with good light. The barn is fantastic for this as each room is beautifully bright.

Emotions During The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was held in the main room of Mythe Barn. It’s a stunning place to take photos, the modern floor to ceiling windows create a light space. Natural light makes the best photos and Mythe Barn is great for this. There is so much emotion to capture during the ceremony. Every groom reacts differently to this momentous occasion. It was so sweet to see James shed a tear seeing his bride walk down the aisle. From then on the couple were all smiles – it was a lovely moment.

Confetti Photos At Mythe Barn

After the wedding ceremony all of the guests took to the front of the building for the confetti photo. So many of our couples are looking for that perfect confetti shot, one of our favourite of these won an award from Masters Of Wedding Photography. Our top tip to get a great photo is to look up! It might sound obvious, but the natural reaction is to close your eyes and put your head down as the confetti flies toward your face. Read our post on whether you should have confetti at your wedding. Hannah and James nailed this photo and it’s one of our favourite’s from their Mythe Barn wedding. It’s also important to check what the venue permits for confetti, some have a designated area for this and specify the kind of confetti which can be used.

Bright, Colourful & Natural Images

Once all the guest were settled outside with a drink we took the newlyweds aside for portraits. At Shane Webber Photography we adore bright, colourful and natural wedding photos. Over the years we have developed his signature style for portraits which is centred around quality of light and relaxed posing. Our in house photography editors work behind the scenes to make sure each image fits with our signature photographic style. We also love the photos of the couple strolling through Mythe Barn’s gardens. This is a great time for a moment alone after the wedding ceremony. We recommend heading out for photos after the meal too. This is important as the softer evening light creates stunning images. You can see more of our natural wedding photographing in our portfolio.

Details & Speeches

Another stunning room with large modern windows is used to host the wedding breakfast. Hannah and James chose white floral decorations giving the room an effortlessly beautiful feel. The speeches are always great to photograph. A natural wedding photographer is always looking for moments; a smile, tears or laughter. During the speeches, these are in abundance. We also really like to capture a few of these moments in black and white. There is something about emotions that translate so well into black and white photography. Our style for black and white snaps is to keep them beautifully soft.

Sunset Photography At Mythe Barn

Our favourite pictures from Hannah and James’ Barn wedding were taken at sunset. A photographer is always aware of the weather for the day and the time of sunset. This varies a lot depending on the time of the year of the wedding. For Hannah and James’ big Mythe Barn wedding sunset was quite late on. It’s was definitely worth the wait as the golden light streamed through the trees. This soft gold light creates ambience and makes for the most stunning wedding photos. All photographers love golden hour images, but they can be tricky to get right. It’s so important to choose an experienced photographer who is up to date with modern photographic techniques.
