Sandhole Oak Barn is one of our favourite summer wedding venues in Cheshire. The barn itself is bright and airy, perfect for natural wedding photography. The grounds at Sandhole Oak Barn are so stunning. One of the most exciting features at Sandhole is the lake. We love taking our couples aside for a few lakeside wedding photos, particularly at sunset. It’s so romantic!
Bridal Preparation Photography
Wedding photography usually begins with bridal preparation. It’s so much fun capturing the moments leading up to the wedding ceremony. There is plenty of anticipation and excitement, which is just what a natural wedding photographer is looking for. A slightly unusual twist was the bride’s inclusion of her beloved guinea pigs! That was a first for us. We have seen many dogs at weddings though. Aarti’s guinea pigs were very well behaved and naturals in front of the camera.
Guinea Pigs At The Wedding
Summer wedding photography at Sandhole Oak Barn is characterised by bright and airy spaces. The oak beamed barn has lots of windows which flood the room with natural light. This makes capturing the ceremony a dream for barn wedding photographers! First down the aisle were Aarti and John’s guinea pigs. They were most excited to see their parents tie the knot. Aarti then stole the show as she looked stunning in her off the shoulder white gown. It was the perfect dress for a summer wedding.
Gorgeous Summer Weather
The newlyweds were blessed with gorgeous summer weather. Blue skies all day without a hint of rain. When the weather is like this there is no place better than Sandhole Oak Barn. Guests can relax by the lake and enjoy the scenic views. During the drinks reception we like to capture lots of natural interactions between the guests. Everyone is in great spirits and with Sandhole as a backdrop, there are so many opportunities for candid photos.
We like to capture formal photos during the drinks reception. At Sandhole Oak Barn a great spot for these images is next to the lake. It makes a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding photographer to utilise. The bride had chosen tropical inspired wedding flowers, which looked great in the summer sun. Aarti and her bridesmaids were all naturals at having their photograph taken. As were the couple who shared a moment in front of the camera before their wedding breakfast.
Speeches In The Barn
During the summer months the barn is so full of natural light. This is fantastic for photographing the speeches. There is no need for artificial lighting or flashes. Whilst the use of flash can produce beautiful images, it would always be our preference to use the natural light available. The quality of light is simply unparalleled. With long summer evenings, the space stays bright for longer.
Sunset Wedding Portraits
Before the newlyweds were needed for their first dance Shane took them outside for wedding portraits. Our most loved images from this wedding were taken during the early evening. The natural golden light created the most perfect setting for Sandhole Oak Barn wedding photographers. John even carried his new bride so that she didn’t damage her dress but still managed to get that perfect shot. We love when couples are just as excited about their wedding photography as we are. They can see Shane’s vision as their photographer and are keen to get the best wedding portraits.
Photographing The Party
We always like to finish the evening with a party! During the summer the evening reception doesn’t start until a bit later. It’s so important to check your photographer’s start and finish time. With sunset as late as 10pm some evenings those beautiful evening shots or party photos could be missed. Staying until the evening is really important to us as we are dedicated to capturing the full story of the day. Full day coverage is included with all of our packages.
